Resignation, indifference, flatness

Those who without apparently sufficient reason become resigned to all that happens, and just glide through life, take it without any effort to improve things and find some joy. They have surrendered to the struggle of life without complaint.

Reflection

Wild Rose reflects resignation. Interest fades, and life is accepted as something that merely happens. Jesus says He came that people might have life, and have it more abundantly. The invitation is to ask for that life again, in small obediences: a prayer, a meal shared, a person noticed, a piece of work done as unto the Lord.

Scripture

John 10:10 (KJV). "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

Meditation

Jesus, I have gone flat. I ask for the life You came to give. Wake one true desire in me today, and I will follow it toward You.
